Some 22 new ETF offerings were launched for the week, each with a distinct value proposition for investors. Detailed below are the respective launches from each asset manager.
BlackRock launched the BlackRock Total Return ETF (Ticker: BRTR), an actively managed solution that seeks alpha opportunities across the fixed income universe. The diversified core bond strategy aims to deliver consistent, attractive returns across all market cycles.
John Hancock Investment Management launched the John Hancock Disciplined Value International (Ticker: JDVI). The fund will be sub-advised by Boston Partners Global Investors, which will focus on securities with attractive relative valuations, strong fundamentals, and positive business momentum.
SP Funds launched the SP Funds S&P World (ex-US) ETF (Ticker: SPWO), which seeks to track S&P DM Ex-U.S. & EM 50/50 Shariah Index. The index is designed to measure the performance of Sharia-compliant components of emerging markets and developed market stocks. The index excludes U.S. stocks.
Alpha Blue Capital launched the Alpha Blue Capital US Small-Mid Cap Dynamic ETF (Ticker: ABCS),which seeks to achieve long-term capital appreciation with targeted annualised alpha & investment performance of 1 per cent -3 per cent in excess of the Bloomberg US 2500 (Small-Mid) Index return over a full market cycle with the opportunity to outperform the Larger Cap broader US market’s returns.
DWS Group launched the Xtrackers California Municipal Bond ETF (Ticker: CA), which tracks the ICE AMT-Free Broad Liquid California Municipal Index that is comprised of debt issued by California’s state government and its agencies.
Vanguard Core Bond ETF (Ticker: VCRB) is an actively managed, broadly diversified bond solution that will invest primarily in US investment-grade bond securities, such as US Treasury, mortgage-backed, and corporate securities of varying yields and maturities (short-, intermediate-, and long-term issues).
ProShares S&P 500 High Income ETF (Ticker: ISPY) will track the performance of the S&P 500 Daily Covered Call Index. ISPY gains exposure to the sale of daily call options using swap agreements and does not trade options.
Wisdom Tree launched the Wisdom Tree Bianco Fixed Income Total Return Fund (Ticker: WTBN), which will track the track the price and yield performance of the Bianco Research Fixed Income Total Return Index, created by Bianco Research LLC.
The Bianco Research Fixed Income Total Return Index employs a multi-step rules-based process that strives to outperform a market-cap weighted universe of US Dollar denominated debt by tilting exposures to select factors that have been historically recognised to drive fixed income performance.
PlanRock Investments has launched two new active global ETFs, the PlanRock Alternative Growth ETF (Ticker: PRAE) and PlanRock Market Neutral Income ETF (Ticker: PRMN). The former seeks growth during bull and bear markets by rotating between various segments of the global equity markets. It seeks to avoid segments of the equity market that are struggling. While the latter invests in high dividend global equities for income and seeks to neutralise market risk exposure through a series of equity index futures and options. PRMN’s strategy is designed to have a low to negative correlation to bonds with similar volatility.
PGIM Investments launched four actively managed ETFs:
PGIM Jennison International Opportunities ETF (Ticker: PJIO) invests in non-US companies, with a focus on businesses in the early stages of accelerating growth and attributes such as competitive advantages and attractive valuations.
PGIM Jennison Better Future ETF (Ticker: PJBF) invests in companies that are anticipated to help address social and environmental challenges as identified by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This may include, but is not limited to, companies that contribute to health and wellness, technological advances to improve productivity, connectivity, and financial and economic inclusion, and engagement in climate action.
PGIM Jennison Focused Mid-Cap ETF (Ticker: PJFM) invests in medium-sized companies diversified across industries and sectors where the investment team sees the potential for durable earnings growth on an intermediate term basis.
PGIM Short Duration High Yield ETF (PSH) seeks total return through a combination of current income and capital appreciation, investing in a diversified portfolio of shorter-duration high yield fixed income securities that are rated below investment grade.
Themes ETFs launched eight new ETFs:
The Themes Cloud Computing ETF (Ticker: CLOD) will track the performance of the Solactive Cloud Computing Index, which is comprised of companies that have business operations in the field of cloud computing.
The Themes Global Systematically Important Banks ETF (Ticker: GSIB) is an actively managed fund that will invest in the equity securities of all banks included in the list of Global Systemically Important Banks (“G-SIBs”), published annually by the Financial Stability Board.
Currently, there are 28 publicly traded banks that are classified as G-SIBs. The manager will invest the fund’s assets on an equally weighted basis in the equity securities issued by G-SIB banks.
The Themes European Luxury ETF (Ticker: FINE) will track the performance of the Solactive European Luxury Index, which is comprised of European companies that have business operations in the luxury industry.
The Themes Gold Miners ETF (Ticker: AUMI) will track the performance of the Solactive Global Pure Gold Miners Index, which is comprised of companies that are active in the gold mining industry.
The Themes Natural Monopoly ETF (Ticker: CZAR) will track the performance of the Solactive Natural Monopoly Index, which is comprised of global companies which exhibit a strong competitive advantage in their sector.
The Themes US Small Cap Cash Flow Champions ETF (Ticker: SMFC) will track the performance of the Solactive US Small Cap Cash Flow Champions Index, which is comprised of small capitalisation US companies with a high cash flow yield.
The Themes US Cash Flow Champions ETF (Ticker: USCF) will track the performance of the Solactive US Cash Flow Champions Index, which is comprised of US companies with a high cash flow yield.
The Themes US R&D Champions ETF (Ticker: USRD) will track the performance of the Solactive US R&D Champions Index, which is comprised of innovative US companies which exhibit strong and consistent investment in research and development (R&D) as well as profitability.
