Victory Capital Management has launched its latest exchange-traded fund, the VictoryShares Free Cash Flow ETF (VFLO), on the Nasdaq. The new rules-based ETF invests in profitable U.S. large-cap companies with high free cash flow yields and favorable growth prospects.
VFLO seeks to provide investment results that track the performance of the Victory US Large Cap Free Cash Flow Index. The strategy aims to select high-quality companies from the universe by applying profitability screens. It then selects companies with the strongest free cash flow yield that exhibit higher growth. Higher free cash flow gives companies the ability to reinvest cash, pay dividends, or repay debts.
Earn High Free Cash Flow Yields Without Losing Growth Potential
Mannik Dhillon, president, VictoryShares and Solutions, said that VFLO is “designed to capitalize on companies with attractive free cash flow yields without sacrificing growth potential.”
The index screens an initial universe of companies for historical and projected free cash flows. It then eliminates companies with the worst growth characteristics to seek better outcomes in a variety of market environments.
Index constituents are selected from a universe of 400 companies measured profitable by their projected free cash flows and earnings. Financial companies and real estate investment trusts are excluded. The index then calculates the free cash flow yield and a growth score for all 400 companies.
That list of 400 is then narrowed to the 75 companies with the highest free cash flow yields. Each company is assigned a growth score based on its growth metrics, such as sales trends and earnings trends. The index provider then selects the 50 companies with the highest growth scores to be included in the index. The index is rebalanced every quarter.
Victory Capital is a diversified global asset management firm with $154.8 billion in assets under management as of May 31.

The Victory U.S. Large Cap Free Cash Flow Index aims to select high quality companies from its starting universe by applying profitability screens. It then selects companies with the strongest free cash flow yield that exhibit higher growth. The Index is rebalanced and reconstituted quarterly. This Index calculates free cash flow yield by dividing expected free cash flow by enterprise value. Expected free cash flow is the average of trailing 12-month FCF and next 12-month forward free cash flow. Enterprise value (EV) measures a company’s total value, often used as a more comprehensive alternative to equity market capitalization.
