HANetf lists short and leveraged crypto ETPs on Nasdaq Helsinki

HANetf has announced that it has listed its range of short and leveraged crypto ETPs on Nasdaq Helsinki.

The ETPs are designed to provide investors with twice the daily performance (or inverse performance) of bitcoin and Ethereum – and they are now available in euros, which opens up trading to the broader European market, the firm says.

The market environment for regulated crypto investment products has grown exponentially, with demand continuing to rise, the firm writes, adding that these ETPs aim to provide investors with a secure and convenient way to take advantage of short-term price movements in bitcoin and Ethereum. “These are tactical trading tools to take advantage of and amplify short term price movements.

“Additionally, the products are cost-efficient, offering leveraged exposure at a lower expense compared to other available leverage and shorting methods in Europe, such as CFD and spread betting.

“Built on the well-established short and leveraged ETP model, the new ETPs feature a familiar structure. They align with the legal and payout mechanisms of over 400 short and leveraged products in Europe, which collectively hold around USD9 billion in AUM. Transparency is a key feature as well, with underlying holdings published daily on a public website, giving investors a clear view of their market exposure.”

HANetf writes that it has a strong track record in crypto ETPs, having previously partnered on the launch of the Bitwise Physical Bitcoin ETP (BTCE), the world’s first centrally cleared bitcoin ETP. The firm writes that BTCE has been a resounding success, earning a reputation for product robustness, security and transparency. BTCE consistently ranks as one of the most traded crypto ETPs on Xetra.

In addition, Hector McNeil and Nik Bienkowski, the co-CEOs and co-founders of HANetf, bring extensive experience in the inverse and leveraged ETP space, having previously founded ETF Securities and Boost ETP, both pioneers in this area and instrumental in the growth of the short and leveraged ETP market within Europe. Building on this legacy, the leveraged and short ETPs reflect HANetf’s continued leadership in bringing cutting-edge crypto investment products to the European market.

Helena Wedin, Head of ETF and ETP, Nasdaq European Markets, says: “We are happy to welcome HANetf as a new ETN provider to the Finnish market. Investor interest in ETNs is on the rise, and this marks a significant milestone in addressing that demand. By expanding the selection of locally listed ETNs, we enable investors to access transparent and cost-efficient investment options.”

Henrik Husman, President of Nasdaq Helsinki, says: “ETN products provide access to alternative investments while maintaining the transparency of a regulated marketplace.

“We welcome HANetf as the second issuer in Nasdaq Helsinki’s ETN segment, which continues to evolve in response to investor interest in alternative asset classes.”

Hector McNeil, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of HANetf, says: “We’re delighted to be listing our suite of short and leveraged crypto ETPs on Nasdaq Helsinki. In doing so, we are bringing to these products to a wider range of investors – not only in Finland – but across Europe thanks to the euro trading lines.

“Whether bullish or bearish on bitcoin and Ethereum, these ETPs deliver a transparent, regulated, and efficient way to navigate short-term market movements. With the demand for regulated crypto products at an all-time high, we’re excited to expand our offerings to meet the needs of European investors.

“There is no doubt the crypto space is quickly catching up with the rest of the broader ETF market and the addition of these types of pay out structures are a natural evolution for the market.”
